questions answered

do I need a referral?

Psychology sessions can be partially subsidised for clients who are referred by a GP and have a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP). A MHTP is a plan that your doctor writes with you about treating a mental health condition.

With a MHTP, you may be able to access a total of 10 partially subsidised sessions in a calendar year.

You can go to a psychologist without a GP referral, you just won't received any money back for your appointments.

how much will it cost?

what if I need to cancel my appointment?

Make sure you get in touch by text or email if you need to cancel your appointment. To avoid a fee, you need to provide two business days of notice prior to your appointment time.

Cancellation fees are as follows:
   •   Less than one business days notice: 100% of the appointment fee or a flat $100 charge for bulk-billed clients.

   •   Less than two business days notice: 50% of the appointment fee or a flat $50 charge for bulk-billed clients.

   •   More than two business days notice: no fee.

how often/many times do I need to come?

There's no one-size-fits-all answer for this (sorry!). Every client is different but on average you can anticipate having 6-10 fortnightly sessions. The number of sessions required depends on type and complexity of symptoms or issues.

will it be online or face to face?

Either! It's up to you what you what you would like to do. However, if you are feeling unwell please let Jaci know so you can change to an online appointment.

how do I book in?
